About
Helen Whitworth
Medical Herbalist
I initially trained as a Doctor at the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, London, qualifying in 1991. I then became a General Practitioner, as I loved the variety of the work presenting to me – all ages, all conditions and no working day the same. I have worked in this role since 1996 and continue to work one day a week in a local Practice. Throughout my life, plants and nature have been important to me and I found myself increasingly drawn to Herbal Medicine, resulting in taking a Diploma in Herbal Medicine with Heartwood Education. The ability to treat patients with natural medicine feels like a gift.
I am interested in all types of health conditions, but with a particular emphasis on Menopause.
I am lucky enough to work in a lovely rural setting with a Consultation Room in my own home, on the edge of a village with beautiful views. I aim to provide a space for patients that feels calm and safe. I grow a variety of herbs in my garden, both within a dedicated herb patch and also spilling out into the herbaceous borders.
